The mainstream media and Democrats are determined to paint Trump in as bad of a light as they can. Headlines are heralding the impending demise of critical cancer, heart disease and terminal research under the Trump administration due to Musk cuts. Let’s look at a couple of these research grants. How about the $600,000 the Agricultural Dept. gave Southern University to study “menstrual cycles in transgender men”? I think we can all agree that one needs to be cut.
But let’s look at another one: The NIH paid the University of California more than $1 million to study whether specialized cellular immunotherapies can extend the lives of cancer patients who are otherwise out of options. I think we can all agree that this one is worthwhile.
But what you might not know is that nearly 40 percent of this research funding, $400,000, won’t be used to find a cure at all. Instead, it will fund the “indirect” expenses of the research. This is where the problem comes because t...
