Letter: The Conservative Party

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
Twenty twenty-four may be the best chance in history for the Conservative Party to play “spoiler” which becoming a viable challenger in the Electoral College. Ronald Reagan, Republican, commented, when asked, that “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, they left me.”
Voters realize that the Conservative Party “backpacks” onto the Republican Party because they likely would not win election on their own even as they are more closely aligned by principles and virtues with the Republican Party.
Now, with neither major party able to unify the country, Conservatives may at least become a viable challenger in the Electoral College in near-future presidential elections.
Conservatives offer a principled alternative to the “populist liberalism” that has infected both major parties currently enslaving the vulnerable electorate that is analogous to the 1850s “Know-Nothing” Party.
