Editor, Gazette-Journal:
You have seen things you cannot unsee.
Your body is broken in ways that cannot be fixed.
You have endured things that cannot be undone.
Your dreams are filled with loss—a loss of yourself: your hopes, dreams, joy, faith … everything you were, hoped to be, could have been.
All gone, but you are alive.
Why?
There is someone, somewhere who needs you.
There is something you are meant to do.
Open your heart again, break through the silence, allow yourself to feel again.
Your hopes, dreams, joy, faith … everything you were, hoped to be, could have been may have changed, but you have not lost “yourself.”
You are alive, you are needed, you have a purpose, and you are not broken.
