Editor, Gazette-Journal:
Regarding the recently placed signs around the county calling Tom Bowen “a snake in the grass”; regarding the investigation of Dr. Melissa Mason; I would like to make some clarifications!
I am a retired attorney and officer of the court, and I know that as an elected official, both the Sheriff and Mr. Bowen were doing the job they were elected to do!
They were informed about a possible breach of the law and they investigated. Finding no breach, they closed the case and it was sealed! Should be end of story! The real snakes in the grass are whoever pulled it out of dead files and made it public, otherwise Dr. Mason and the public would not have known, saving humiliation for Dr. Mason and the public. To me, that is the real crime.
