Letter: Thank you, Gloucester

As the Abingdon District representative on the school board for the past 20 years over the past 24, I have been humbled, honored and thankful for the privilege to serve Gloucester County, something I never took for granted. This experience has been the most rewarding as well as challenging position I have ever had. At the same time, I love being part of GCPS and serving my community, something I take very seriously.
Our school system is one of the best in the country and our staff is second to none. As I leave the board, I just would like to leave knowing individuals who follow me truly have the students, staff and our community in their hearts and pursued a seat here for all the right reasons, and fortunately that has occurred.
