As a resident of Mathews County, I would like to commend our local Food Lion grocery store for its excellent service to the community.
On the day before the recent snowstorm, the parking lot was full, as I expected it to be. The store was crowded with what seemed like the whole county scurrying through the aisles and panic-buying in anticipation of the big storm.
What surprised me was how efficiently the Food Lion staff handled the crowd. Every single checkout lane was open, and there was no wait in line at all. I’m especially impressed that the management was so accommodating, since they are the only grocery store in the county and therefore have no competition.
Thank you, Food Lion workers, for all you do!
