Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I firmly stand behind Mathews Citizens for the Common Good. It is exactly what the group says it is. They want what is best for all of our citizens, regardless of political affiliations. The sole obligation to its approximately 8,800 citizens is government that is in their best interests. Personal agendas have no business in the running of a county.
All but one of our current elected board of supervisors has refused the free educational training designed to give them guidance in managing our county. Never has our county been so misrepresented, and embarrassed by personal and business lawsuits. Wake up, Mathews! The foxes are in the hen house.
It is high time for the “Silent Majority” to make their voices and votes heard above the irresponsible and misspoken rhetoric often displayed in county meetings. Take our county back!
