Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I, like our chairman Joe Diggs, am involved in the Mathews Citizens for the Common Good. We came to Mathews in 1998 and since then have been involved in this beloved community in many ways and numerous civic organizations. When traveling all over the world for the company that I founded, when asked where I lived, I always answered, “I am not in paradise, but I can see it from my dock.”
I meant that then and I am committed to keeping it that way as long as I live. To me, Mathews Citizens for the Common Good is a group of citizens that are dedicated to supporting candidates who possess integrity, character, honesty, and live their lives in such a manner. In other words, they need to be above reproach. They should be laser-focused on local issues, not national or state politics, and respect other viewpoints.
