School choice is a critical civil rights issue of our time. For too long, children from low-income families have been trapped in failing public schools that do not equip them with the basic skills needed to succeed. Chaotic classrooms and unmotivated teachers hinder learning, while wealthier families can afford private education.
Many families make enormous sacrifices to send their children to private schools, or have become a part of the growing movement of families that have adjusted their lives to allow them to homeschool their children. This trend is a result of government overreach, the federal government’s debilitating takeover of an American education system.
School choice offers a way out, providing students access to better environments where dedicated teachers thrive. This will not only allow good public schools to continue succeeding but also ensure that all students receive the education they deserve.
