School board member: it’s a matter of trust
Editor, Gazette-Journal:
For over 20 years, the education of our children has been my "business." Gloucester Point voters have trusted me to volunteer teach at Abingdon Elementary and to serve on the school board. Now, Gloucester Point Supervisor Crewe has publicly implied that the voters do not trust me to manage the school board budget.
I am in the phone book, on the Gloucester County Public Schools’ web page and available. If the voters do not trust me, why did they call Bobby Crewe and not me? I know all my decisions have not pleased everyone, but I believe they have been in the best interest of the education of Gloucester’s children. Would I want to represent these voters if they did not trust me? Maybe I should step aside and let Mr. Crewe find someone more trustworthy to represent Gloucester Point on the school board.
