Letter: Saulman for School Board

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I am a retired teacher with 44 years of teaching experience in upper elementary grades. For 39 of those years, it was my privilege to serve in Gloucester County Public Schools. During that time, I was afforded the opportunity to work with a number of exceptional colleagues. Cindy Saulman was one such individual.
She was one of several Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) officers who worked with my fifth graders and me. I still refer to her as Deputy Saulman, even though she is now retired. For me to personally address her as Cindy or Mrs. Saulman just does not seem appropriate for the high esteem in which I hold her.
I looked forward to DARE days myself when she would come into my classroom. Her lessons were engaging and comprehensive.
