The citizens of Gloucester have but one clear choice for sheriff this Nov. 8 and that choice is Larry Rilee. Larry has the years of law-enforcement experience needed to lead the department in these difficult times. He has received numerous awards for his work as a homicide detective with the City of Newport News. He was born and raised in Gloucester and has chosen to raise his family here. He knows the goodness of the people of this county and what they are capable of.
Meanwhile, you have two other candidates pointing their fingers at each other, blaming the other for the department losing its accreditation. Under Sheriff Gentry, burglaries have increased and drug arrests have decreased. Recently, there was a large drug bust where the sheriff says, "See what I’m doing." Why does he wait for an election year to do something?
