The pattern of Virginia mass shooting coverups will likely continue in February when the killer of three University of Virginia football players is sentenced. The case will undoubtedly be sealed.
This time, Attorney General Miyares is complicit in hiding the truth. Just as in the cases of the law school in Grundy, Virginia Tech, and the Virginia Beach Municipal Building shootings, no one will be held accountable for his or her role in the tragedies.
On Nov. 13, 2022, three young men were murdered on a charter bus returning to the UVa campus from a field trip to Washington, D.C. The killer, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., was a former football player. He was not on the team, there were warning signs of violence, and he had no business being on the bus.
Miyares hired a high-powered law firm to write a report (not an investigation) of the carnage. I have a copy of the work agreement. Miyares agreed to pay the firm nearly $1.2 million. The salary of a senior partner...
