Editor, Gazette-Journal:
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go" is a quote from beloved author Dr. Seuss. Reading opens up the imagination, the heart and the mind. The public library system has been a great source of opportunities for all.
The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors has been meeting in closed-door sessions to discuss moving or possibly even closing the Gloucester Point branch of the library. Shouldn’t this issue be discussed in an open forum? There are approximately 5,295 registered patrons of the library system. A library is needed just as much in the southern half of the county as in the northern. A 30-minute drive to the main branch at Gloucester Court House can be a hardship for those who already live on the margins of poverty. I urge you today to contact the board of supervisors and let them know how much this library means to you.
