I am writing to thank our local community for supporting the Mathews Rotary Club’s second Party With A Purpose event which raises much-needed funds for a specific local cause each year.
This year we are supporting Nelda Gibbs’s Mathews’ portion of Meals on Wheels. These are supplemental funds provided through private donations that augment Bay Aging’s much-loved Meals on Wheels program. Nelda’s work along with the wonderful volunteer drivers really make this program exceptional and have allowed many individuals to stay in their homes long after they otherwise could.
Saturday’s party took place at Williams Wharf and featured music by the Roadducks who were awesome! On the Flip Side, Backwoods BBQ and Short Lane Ice Cream assured that all were well fed. The crowd had a great time. Mathews Rotary Club is so grateful to everyone who attended and especially those who donated even though they could not attend.
