Letter: Orth for Gloucester BOS

We recently received a “hit piece” in the mail against our good friend, J.J. Orth, written by John Meyer. Both are running for the Gloucester Board of Supervisors from our district, Abingdon.
We are deeply concerned about the false comments made about Mr. Orth, who is running for reelection on a stellar track record for the past 12 years.
Several comments were factually incorrect. The truth is that Mr. Orth has helped keep our taxes among the lowest in our region, while providing for our basic needs in public safety, schools and parks.
Mr. Orth is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, voting in 2019 to adopt a resolution which opposed “any law that would unconstitutionally restrict the rights under the Second Amendment of the citizens of Gloucester County to bear arms.”
