Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I was so surprised to read Ms. Hernandez’s letter of complaint about the staff at Mathews Memorial Library (Aug. 8 Readers Write), because our experience has been just the opposite. My husband is an author and from time to time we call on the good graces of Mrs. Dillehay or Mr. Greg Lewis to help us with some research, and we have always found both of them, and their volunteers at the library to be particularly helpful, knowledgeable and willing, even when at times it has probably been inconvenient for them.

There have been occasions when we would have had to do a lot of extra searching if it hadn’t been for their efficiency and kindness.

We are very proud of, and thankful for, our library and all its staff.
