The Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission is composed of commissioners from several counties and towns—Gloucester, Mathews, Essex, Middlesex, King and Queen, and King William counties and the towns of Urbanna, Tappahannock and West Point.
At their September meeting, a group of concerned citizens shared information on Agenda 21 and its destructive impact on our property rights. Although not all the commissioners were displeased, the Powers-That-Be were not happy that we took up so much of their time with what was referred to derogatorily by one of them.
Their response has been to limit the number of us that can attend their "public" meetings (although locations are easily available) and to change the rules as to the amount of time we can speak and under what conditions. Although they are supposed to represent the citizens, it is apparent that those in charge don’t want to hear from us, and have taken measures to shut us out....
