It’s election time, and choices need to be made. Locally, we have some very good people running for election and reelection. I don’t know Sheriff Howlett’s opponent, but I do know Sheriff Howlett. In my opinion, he has done an excellent job for Mathews.

The most recent example is his performance during Hurricane Irene. As Irene proceeded up the coast, he kept us informed and updated as new information became available. Due to his foresight, water and ice were made available to those who needed it. He didn’t do it all himself, but was instrumental in keeping people working together. He is a natural leader and asset to Mathews.

I am voting for Danny Howlett because I think he will continue to do a good job. Also, it is a way to say thank you for the job he has done for us already.
