Editor, Gazette-Journal:

As a resident of Mathews County for the past dozen or so years, a teacher for 20 years and an active member of both Gloucester and Mathews counties I would like to express my support for voting Mrs. Linda Hodges onto the Mathews School Board.

My family and I settled here toward the end of a long career as a military family. We have all dug in our heels and become involved citizens of our adopted home by involving ourselves in community outreach programs and organizations as well as becoming members of Apostles Lutheran Church. Linda also happens to be a very involved member of Apostles and is, in fact, president of the church council of which I am also a member.

Having met Linda and her family through church and over the last decade, worked with her on many community service teams and church projects and events, I can honestly say that there is not a better candidate to place in a position to support our schools. Even the most meaningful projects requir...
