Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I was listening to the recorded Mathews Board of Supervisors’ meeting that was held on March 28. I am appalled by the comment made by school board member Bobby Dobson regarding the previous board of supervisors and the current owners of the Hole in The Wall restaurant: “people involved in this should be taken out and shot in my book.”
Is this the example we want to display to our children and the community?
People everywhere are very sensitive to mass shootings and many are traumatized by words similar to what Bobby Dobson stated publically. His words sound threatening. Such statements could be suggestive for some people, who might take them seriously and act on them. Consideration should be taken that he be removed from his position on the Mathews County School Board.
