Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Thirteen years ago, my husband Roger and I moved from New York to Mathews. Les and Lynn, who were our new neighbors, welcomed us warmly and soon became our friends.

After becoming widowed four years ago, there have been times that I have found it difficult to handle some of the maintenance problems with my home. Les, who has a very busy life, has always been willing to step in and help whenever needed. In fact, there have been times when he has learned that I’m having a problem with something and has taken care of it without my having to ask.

So how does this apply to Les running for Commissioner of the Revenue? I feel that it shows the character traits of a caring, patient, problem-solving and approachable individual that would serve the public well.

Please consider Les Hall for Mathews County Commissioner of the Revenue when voting on Nov. 8.
