Letter: Grateful for an end to election season

I’m grateful our local elections are over. The Common Good won. Women ruled the day. Of course, I wished for more inclusion and respect for our black friends and neighbors, but it was not to be. Perhaps we can do better next time.
I’m grateful for our Gazette-Journal and how well they covered the candidates and forums. There was no lack of information for us to make our decisions. I was disappointed there was no afternoon forum.
It was fun being out and involved on Election Day. It was festive and a very meaningful day.
I’d like to add my special love and thanks to the Ripley, Hudgins and Newsome families for the good years in their little house. I’m more than grateful to Greg and Joyce Crawford, Barbara Bass, Cindy Roman, Callie and Carlos for extra help in relocating me to my son’s property on Twiggs Ferry Road in Dutton.
With all that said, I plan to have a peaceful and grateful holiday season. I wish the same for you.
