The Bay School of the Arts and the Mathews County Woman’s Club sponsored a free, fun-filled week learning about "Art and Nature" for the children of our community. During the week of Aug. 2, there was a total of 391 children in attendance over the entire period. Snacks were served.

Wendy Marshall was the teacher and 20 volunteers from the woman’s club assisted her throughout the week. A reception was held on Thursday for the children and their families and everyone admired all the wonderful artwork. Food Lion donated a large sheet cake delightfully decorated by their cake decorator, Kristal Burrell.

It was a wonderful experience for the children and also for all who helped make the week a success.
