Letter: For Orth

Editor, Gazette-Journal:I am glad that Robert “JJ” Orth is still willing to serve on the Board of Supervisors. We are fortunate for his service on the board during the past 12 years.
We need leaders like Dr. Orth to work together to ensure that Gloucester County remains a great place to raise a family and do business. He is a voice of reason when making the difficult decisions our supervisors have to make; he understands the importance of weighing multiple perspectives, listening to constituents and other board members, and thinking through the potential short- and long-term effects of the decisions that are made.
He has distinguished himself in organizations he has served, for example, in the Abingdon Volunteer Rescue Squad, volunteering for Parks and Recreation and the Gloucester High School Athletic Boosters Club, as an award-winning professor at VIMS, and as an advocate for our community.
