Editor, Gazette-Journal:
There are two independent candidates who are running for the Constitutional Office of Sheriff of Mathews County. It has come to my attention the Mathews County Republican Committee has endorsed Albert “Sid” Foster, not by unanimous decision, for sheriff.
He is running as an independent candidate and now has chosen to go after the Republican endorsement. It sounds like Mr. Foster is unable to make a solid decision on his platform and feels he may need additional Republican support.
It appears Mr. Foster does not know where he stands on the political spectrum. Indecisiveness is not a good quality in the law enforcement profession.
This Republican will be voting for the “Experience Citizens Deserve,” the candidate who exemplifies fairness and equality for all, the most qualified of the candidates, and that is a vote for April Edwards for the Mathews County Sheriff.
