Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I have given considerable thought to the need for a response to the accusations towards and assumptions being made about our organization, Mathews Citizens for the Common Good. I am directing my message to our citizens who are concerned about the future of our county government, the needs of our public schools and who are willing to research and determine for themselves the candidates to support this fall in our local election.
To these citizens I am suggesting you refer to our website—www.mathewscommongood.com—review our mission statement, call a board member to ask questions and read about all the candidates we support. We have only endorsed candidates running as independents and we are not associated with any local, state, or national party or political organization.
