I am writing in reference to the June 6 Gloucester County Board of Supervisors meeting. I wanted to stress my disappointment in the comments of some of the supervisors.First, Mr. Hutson, if you are confused on whether renovation of the school or renovation of the ball field should have higher priority, maybe you should abstain from voting on any budget matters. Every student that attends a school will use the teachings from the school for the rest of their lives. Less than 1 percent of students will be kicking a soccer ball into their twenties, which is the reason that a school project is a higher priority.
If you need help with prioritizing the projects from the modified needs list, only the GVFR station, AVFR bunkhouse, school HVAC, and Botetourt renovation are true needs. The Sports Complex and parks should be put off for better economic times when hope is not in the equation for funding them.
