As many readers know, the Virginia State Police maintains a Sex Offender Registry that contains the names, addresses and a photograph of individuals thought to pose a threat to sexually exploit children. As I understand, inclusion is court-ordered and restricts behavior on the part of individuals who might be tempted to exploit children sexually.
Perhaps there should be a Debt Offender Registry. As is his style, Congressman Rob Wittman was recently tempted to borrow $4 trillion from our unsuspecting children, and he yielded to this temptation. Congressman Wittman has shown no reluctance to look to our unsuspecting children to pay off the national debt projected to grow to $36 trillion.
I consider fiscal exploitation and sexual exploitation of children to be comparable, and Congressman Wittman is a worthy candidate for the Debt Offender Registry I propose. His willingness to gratify himself fiscally at the expense of our children is troublesome and longstanding,...
