Letter: Courthouse observations

Last week, I went to the courthouse for a trial regarding “Visibility in our Schools.” While I have not taken sides on the issue, I believe parents should be aware of what happens in classrooms. Here’s how my visit went:
The security guard at the desk was helpful, but I noticed that only certain citizens are asked to go through security scanners while others are not. For the safety of everyone, I believe that everyone should go through the scanner, regardless of their status. It doesn’t seem fair otherwise.
I arrived early, so I checked if the new County Clerk still required two forms of ID and residency status for marriage licenses. I was glad to learn that this is no longer the case, as I felt the last county clerk abused their power. Unfortunately, no one at the courthouse seems to be accountable, not even the judge.
