Letter: Community’s response has rekindled the flame

Over a month ago, on Saturday, April 16, 2011, a tornado ravaged parts of Gloucester County and destroyed one of Gloucester’s oldest schools, Page Middle School (formerly Gloucester High School until 1975). Citizens rallied to help one another in a manner that has been representative of Gloucester’s community spirit.

The outpouring of support for the school district was a spark that allowed the superintendent and the school board to move quickly to accommodate almost 600 students at Page Middle School; and ensure that their right to a quality education was not disrupted by more than two days.
