Editor, Gazette-Journal:
Today at the critique meeting we host bi-monthly for local authors, one of our regular members read an essay he had written about learning to use text messaging, that is abbreviations and acronyms or one-character words, in order to communicate with his grandchildren.
During the discussion that followed, another member pointed out that in ancient Hebrew there were also many one-character words because back then it was a lot of time-consuming hard work to chisel each character in stone.
My conclusion from it all is that man has now come the full circle when it comes to communicating in the world. LOL (lots of laughs, lots of love, or lots of luck … take your pick).
