Letter: Colorful, welcoming accents

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
The hanging baskets around the historic Mathews courthouse have been blooming since last spring. They are colorful, welcoming accents to our town center. Each one is different and combines interesting plant combinations.
They were designed and planted by Kathryn Tatterson. Roland Foster waters them daily and keeps them in top blooming condition. Funding is provided by Main Street Mathews and others.
Businesses on Main and Church streets add their own plant displays. Cindy Gebhard created a beautiful blooming mini garden in the alley between Main Street and the courthouse.
Thanks to all who make our town center a beautiful area for visitors and residents to visit and enjoy.
