It is so indicative for the Mathews Sheriff to use national methods of personal tallies.
This was illustrated in Sherry Hamilton’s Feb. 1 article (“Gloucester Sheriff questions numbers used in presentation”).
The Mathews County Sheriff’s tally of her available deputies clouds the issue rather than clarifying it.
Deputies assigned to less stressful assignments might realistically readily apply for medical retirements due to an array of reasons. Reality is being distorted in Mathews County.
I concede that care of one’s people and labor economics are not taught in Constitutional Law 101.
