Editor, Gazette-Journal:
Dear friends and neighbors, it is with a heavy heart that we are announcing that Christmas will be a little less "bright" this year. We will be unable to put up our annual Christmas lighting display at our home on Crany Creek Drive due to some family health concerns. It was a very difficult decision for us to make, not only has it become a tradition for many families, but the tons of food and pet supplies the community donated went to many local food pantries and to our local Humane Society. We are very much aware in this economy those donations will be greatly missed.
We strongly urge everyone to continue your generosity and donate what you can, whether it’s a bag of dog or cat food to the Humane Society, or by dropping a check in the mail to any of the local worthy causes. The need is greater than ever.
