Let us Celebrate the Legacy and commemorate the 236th anniversary of the Constitution and the 231st anniversary of the Bill of Rights—Amendments 1-10. Constitution Week is September 17-23. This annual celebration was set aside in 1955 and signed into law by President Dwight Eisenhower on August 2, 1956. 
Remember reciting the Preamble to the Constitution in grade school: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessing of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” The Preamble was written by Gouverneur Morris (1752-1816) of Delaware.
