During the forums in Mathews County for board of supervisors, I heard Janine Burns claim that she did not delay the application process for the car wash at Hyco Corner. In contrast, I heard the challenger Patrick Beattie state the process was unnecessarily delayed.
I would like to take this opportunity to set the record straight. I simply asked the board to remove the requirement to have an operator on site during all hours of operation and to allow me to establish my own hours of operation. Janine Burns used my application to address a B2 car wash zoning issue. My car wash was zoned B1; therefore, B2 zoning had no bearing on my business.
She inappropriately sent my request back to the planning commission. The planning commission sent it back the following month unchanged.
