Letter: Broken-hearted decision

Thank you and deep appreciation to those that signed my petition, supported, prayed, and spoke words of encouragement and praise of my work. At the last minute and my deepest apologies, I made the decision (with many tears) to not seek re-election to the Mathews County Board of Supervisors.
There is more work that needs to be done (and I want to do it). We have issues like water access, in-door plumbing, economic development to benefit all, keeping the vibrancy of the county for all age groups, employment opportunities for all, keeping and sustaining our public school system, flood resiliency, environmental justice, safety, tourism, other streams of revenue for the county versus cutting from services essential to many and from our school system, housing opportunities for all, and food security for all.
