Editor, Gazette-Journal:
It is gratifying to see Mr. Clarence Bowser pick himself up after suffering grave injustice, to run for sheriff once again.
Local authorities and the press enjoyed portraying him poorly to the general public; but, because he is a man of good character and because he maintains a spotless background, he is able to stand before our voters to ask for their support.
I urge Gloucester residents to think for themselves rather than to allow people who do not share their interests to lead them. We have had our fill of bullies in county government.
Mr. Bowser’s lengthy law enforcement experience includes serving the residents of Gloucester, as a sheriff’s deputy. He is no stranger. He lives here and he wants to serve Gloucester, once again.
In the field for sheriff, Gloucester can do itself a favor this time, by voting for a man who understands law enforcement here and a man who is not for sale (Mr. Bowser is not accepting campaign contributions)....
