On Aug. 23, 2011, voters will have the opportunity to select the Republican candidate for the 98th District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates. Put simply, Sherwood Bowditch has what it takes to represent the 98th District with a strong voice in Virginia’s General Assembly.

One of my favorite and most successful public servants of the modern era, Rudy Giuliani, presents six traits of good leaders in his books and lectures. These include: having strong beliefs, being an optimist, courage, relentless preparation, teamwork, and communication. Sherwood exhibits all six of these traits as seen through his hard work in the community.

As president of the Gloucester Boys and Girls Club, he chaired the capital campaign, raising a half million dollars to open one of the largest Boys and Girls Clubs in the nation.
