We enthusiastically endorse the candidacy of Sherwood Bowditch for 98th District Delegate to the Virginia General Assembly, knowing it will take a strong and capable person to replace retiring Delegate Harvey Morgan.
We have known Sherwood and his community-serving family for many years and have worshipped with them the last 35 to 40 years. A Gloucester native, he is well educated and informed on a broad range of subjects and is a successful businessman as a commercial insurance account executive.
He has been a prime "mover and shaker" in community service, having conducted a successful half-million dollar campaign for the Gloucester Boys and Girls Club as its vice president, and is now serving his second term as president of that organization. He is a former chairman of the Gloucester County Republican Committee and was a 2004 delegate to the Republican National Convention.
