I first heard of Mathews six years ago when my daughter, Taylor Behl, was found there. Taylor was 17, bright, beautiful and murdered in Mathews, Va.

During the time she was missing, I had to learn how to deal with police, investigators, media and attorneys—first Richmond’s DA, then Mathews County’s prosecutor, Jack Gill. After my first meeting with Mr. Gill, I felt lighter and more secure that my angel would get justice. I held every confidence in Jack Gill. He could and would carry out what was required to put the monster away.

The days, weeks and months went by with this case being high, very high on Mr. Gill’s priority list. I know this because if we didn’t meet in person, he would call to keep me up-to-date. During our meetings, Jack’s responses were always methodical, to the point. He refused to give up or give in to the defense’s arguments, offers or pleas.
