Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I’m responding to Wanda Fary’s letter to the Gazette-Journal ("Please spay and neuter your pets," Oct. 27 Readers Write). I quote her: "I personally would rather see a dog whose future existence is almost certain to be kenneled 24/7 in a shelter environment be euthanized. There is a difference between simply existing in a stressful environment and truly living."
Tell that to a human on death row and they will take the stressful environment every time.
Animals do have feelings—it’s a fact. Do we not feel powerless when it comes to stopping wars, killings, hatred, bullying, intolerance. One person can make a difference—many can do more to save the animals at our own humane society.
Kindness to animals creates a better world for all of us.
