Letter: A response

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
In her letter (“School board thoughts,” June 8 Readers Write), Dianne Jones accuses me and a fellow board member of some statements made during recess and after a school board meeting, but does not introduce the context in which this was done.
First and foremost, I did make comments relative to Mrs. Jones’s behavior, as well as her actions not becoming of a “Christian” as she claims to be, and I stand behind them, although they were not stated as she listed them.
Mrs. Jones spoke during public comment period berating certain board members that do not vote as she would prefer, while inserting Bible verses in between the derogatory comments. As board members, we all sit, listen, respect and act accordingly to the comments made during these times, regardless of our personal feelings, etc. I respect Mrs. Jones’s comments when presented as she is entitled to make them.
