Letter: A ‘paradise’ for children, at no cost

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
On Oct. 9, Gloucester Point Baptist Church held its annual Fall Festival. It was "paradise" for children, with so many things to do, even pony rides. Everything was free, including food and drinks—the Chesapeake Bay (Guinea) clam chowder was the best. No one was selling anything or asking for donations.
Based on other festivals we attended with our 4-year-old granddaughter, I’ve estimated $40-$50 in expenses—five pony rides ($5 each at another festival), at least 20 times on slides and jumps—lots of hands-on fun.
Thank you, GPBC, for a fun and free day. We’ve sent a donation to the church.
