A message was sent to citizens on April 20 [of] the school board meeting regarding the search for a new Superintendent for the Gloucester School Division. The folks need to go back and view this meeting and get your personal take on the proceedings. The Constitution of Virginia requires the Board of Education to certify to the school board of each division a list of qualified persons for the office of division superintendent of schools, one of whom shall be selected to fill the post by the division school board.
The Virginia School Boards Association presented a manual and instructions as to how to follow their process for our search. Remember, the VSBA is “quote” a voluntary, nonpartisan organization of Virginia school boards, promoting excellence in public education through leadership, advocacy, and services. “Unquote.”
