Leon Ronald Goolsby Jr., 57, of Hayes, died April 29, 2014.

Leon was a Systems Analyst with USfalcon. He served in the U.S. Navy and was awarded the First Good Conduct Award, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Navy Expeditionary Medal.

He was a historian and kept an extensive library on history. Leon was an accomplished guitar player, loved to hunt and enjoyed taking walks through the woods and mountains of Virginia. 

He is survived by his wife, Wendy; children, Kim Giardina, Kathleen Goolsby and Emily Goolsby; grandson, Christopher; sister, Kelsey Goolsby; brothers, James, Ken and Christian Goolsby, and step-daughter, Michelle A. Ward.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3-4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
