Legette wins Second Team VHSL honors

Mathews High School standout basketball player Tae Legette has been named to the VHSL Class 1 All-State Second Team, the Virginia High School League announced last Thursday.
Legette, the Blue Devils’ senior point guard, scored his 1,000th career point against King William back in January. He averaged 29.3 points per game, ending the year with 674 points, which placed him third statewide in scoring, according to the website MaxPreps.com.
Also on the MaxPreps rankings, teammate Jordyn Cosby, a sophomore power forward, ended the year ranked third across Virginia in rebounds, pulling down 13 per game on average.
