Legacy for Gloucester Citizens to celebrate 2 community leaders

The Legacy for Gloucester Citizens will honor the contributions of two distinguished community leaders—the late Rev. Frederick Risdon Miles Carter and Marion Randall—at a special celebration at 5 p.m. Saturday. The event will take place at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, located at 8784 Guinea Road, Hayes.
The Rev. Mr. Carter, the first African American Deputy in Gloucester and the owner of Carter’s Funeral Home, left an indelible mark on our community through his dedication and service. “His legacy continues to inspire and uplift those who follow in his footsteps,” a release stated.
Randall has made significant impacts across various arenas, including education, homelessness and community activism. “Her tireless efforts and unwavering commitment have touched countless lives and strengthened the fabric of our society,” the release said.
