Artist Joseph Gyurcsak, foreground, recently conducted a plein air workshop in Mathews for the Bay School Community Arts Center. The objective was to teach artists how to see and paint with more confidence and learn how to create plein air paintings that capture the light and atmosphere the artist envisioned. Joe Gyurcsak, former Utrecht staff painter, will give a free lecture and demonstration of expert technique for painting with the water-based medium gouache from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Arts on Main in Gloucester.
Gyurcsak served as the Utrecht staff painter in the development of the Utrecht Designer Gouache paint colors, said a press release, and he has three decades of experience in working with the Brooklyn-based manufacturer of fine art supplies.
He recently conducted a plein air workshop in Mathews for the Bay School Community Arts Center.Light refreshments will be served. Masks are required.
